Trocadero is the place where tourists can find nowadays the Chaillot Palace of Paris, located right across the Eiffel Tower. The Chaillot hill was landscaped for the first time in 1867, for the World Fair. For the International Exhibition of 1937, the old Trocadero Palace was demolished and replaced by the Chaillot Palace, which currently opens its gates to the public. It was designed in a modern style by architects Louis Hippolyte Boileau, Jacques Carlu and Leon Azema. Just like the old palace, the current one is built on the old foundations. Its wings are independent buildings, separated by esplanades, which offer a spectacular view to the Eiffel Tower.
