The Gardens of Luxemburg are private gardens open to the public, located in the 6th arrondissement. They were created in 1612, upon Maria de Medici's request. Under the First Empire, the restauration of the gardens was coordinated by architect Jean-François-Thérèse Chalgrin. The Gardens range across 23 hectares, being animated by flower and sculpture rows. Being an important gathering place for Parisians, students or those who want to have a walk, they are an idyllic place.
